6 years

On the 28th December 2004 on a lovely snowy afternoon Mr B and I said “I Do”.  We had a great wedding with only close family and friends there and although the day flew in every moment of it was special.

Six years have passed and so much has happened in that time. There have been a lot of things that have put a strain on our relationship but we have got through them together and are stronger for it. We have our gorgeous daughter who I am thankful for every day and I’m so proud of her and the little girl she has become.

I am really greatful that Mr B is a part of my life, here’s to another 6

Back to Normality

Today I finally got back to work and it was even in an office and everything 🙂

My journey normally takes me an hour but this morning due to really thick fog it took 2 hours to get there but even after that I was so glad to be back to the hussle and bussle of work.

I really enjoyed my time in the house with Beth the last few weeks has reconfirmed to me that I don’t think I could be a stay at home Mum.  Some people might be reading this and thinking I’m a terrible parent but I love working and making a difference in my job.  We’ve all gotten into a good routine of work/nursery/Working from home and it suits us and our family.  I have some friends that are stay at home parents, some that work longs hours and some that have a combo of both and I think the key is finding something that works for you and your family and I know we have.

Anyway, there are only 5 more sleeps till Santa and Beth is mega excited.  She is really wrapped up in the joy of it and it’s so nice to see.  The minute she wakes up in the morning she wants to open her advent calendar and see what’s in the window and tells me how many sleeps there are left until Santa comes to visit.  On Christmas Eve we are taking her to see Santa, a tradition we started 2 years ago.  I love the fact that it’s Mark and I that take her and we have a nice family trip out, hopefully it will be something she remembers fondly when she gets older.

We’re having my Mum and 1 of my sisters here for dinner this year which is a first for us.  When we moved into our house (8 years ago today btw) we always had dinner just the 2 of us, so it’s a break in our first proper Christmas tradition and I’m really looking forward to it.  I have planned my menu and bought in most of it but will be doing an early run to M&S on Christmas Eve for some fresh things.

Whatever everyone gets up to, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and enjoy the break.
